Through history it has been the fervent quest of many to understand the balance of life and death in our universe. Many turn to faith, philosophy and science for answers and it is this drive that has brought us to grasp the grandness of our Sun. The Sun is a celestial body that even today we are learning from and through its wise lessons we have found a fraction to the reason for life. It is Physics that is responsible for streamlining modern knowledge about the Sun's energy and how its many forces influence the status quo of life in our solar system.
Life Hangs in the Balance
Containing 99.85% of our solar system's mass; our young Sun holds majority buying power in the cosmic stock exchange and without it our world would become lifeless. A well placed solar flare could instantly turn Earth to a desolate rock - or it could go Supernova and destroy everything within 6,000,000,000,000 miles in only a few minutes. The Sun's awesome duality is a perfect projection of the way our universe flows through the balance of life and death, day and night, yin and yang. For me, it is a welcome and humble reminder that we as humans are insignificant to the vastness of the universe.
Unstoppable Force. Immovable Object.
The Sun's gravitational reach maintains rhyme and reason over the calculated cycle we call an orbit; of which pertains to the speed and distance of each planet, from each planet. The Sun's gravity governs nearly all mass in our solar system which includes planets, comets, asteroids, meteors, satellites and NASA missions.
Among the many natural forces possessed by the Sun, ultraviolet radiation is the trickiest for life on Earth. It takes roughly 8 minutes for the Sun's highly lethal ultraviolet waves to travel across the void and filter through Earth's protective Ozone; delivering a perfectly balanced ray of life-giving sunshine to phytochemical producing plants and sunbathing wildlife. If the Earth's Ozone were to fail, we would all be in a lot of trouble very quickly.
Electromagnetic energy, 1 of 4 principal forces in quantum physics, resonates throughout the universe and the Sun is one such source. This finely tuned energy travels over 92,960,000 miles to the occupants of Earth, penetrating and phasing through nearly all matter, all thought, all existence.
The Spirit of Yang Energy
Our Sun has been our celestial father figure and source of masculine energy since the dawn of time. He brings with light of day and warms life on Earth. Cultures of the world that are familiar with Pagan tradition and the Yin Yang, recognize the Sun as being a powerful source of male Yang energy. The Greeks and Romans named a small handful of their gods after the Sun (Apollo, Helios, et cetera).
Yang expresses positive, light and male energy where Yin represents negative, dark and female energy. Now this doesn't mean that men are inherently positive in their emotional behavior, it simply means that male energy has an electrically positive charge, much like a battery or electrical outlet. To put this concept of energy into perspective, just compare positive male energy to negative female energy in terms of our reproductive organs - males give (positive charge) and females receive (negative charge).
To support this claim further, would you not agree that men are typically bold, assertive and often extroverted in their behavior?
Food for Thought - Is it possible that science is on the cusp of discovering a connection between types of energy and the metaphysical? It is an established fact that our bodies, planets and stones emit different levels of energy frequencies and it is now believed that electromagnetics may have something to do with that.
Short of owning medieval armor made of gold or sitting inside an anti-gravitational field you will be exposed to all of the Sun's natural energy. Through close observation and scientific research we have come to better understand the forces of the Sun and how they ebb into our daily lives. It does not surprise me that modern science now supports matters of faith and philosophy with solid evidence of our connection to the heavens; it is one of the oldest truths that everything in the universe is made of star matter - including humans. The Sun is no exception to the rule.
